If someone passes away in my family, how do I submit a death claim?

Follow the steps below:

  1. Contact The Unlimited Customer Care Department on 0861 990 000 and notify us of the Death. We will need your full name and surname, ID no., Telephone Number and email address. We will need to ask you important information regarding the Death.
  2. If all qualifying criteria are met, we will send you claim forms. It is important to have a fax/email address so we can send these forms to you speedily.
  3. You will need to obtain all the required supporting documents and send them back to us via email/fax or post.
  4. We will notify you upon receipt of the Death Benefit Claim.
  5. Upon receipt of ALL required documents, your claim will be assessed. All approved claims are paid within 24 hours.
Does The Unlimited cover HIV/Aids?

Yes, we do cover HIV/AIDS. A 12 month waiting period applies. We will not cover you for Death that is related to pre-exisitng conditions.

How do I submit a claim with The Unlimited if I've been admitted into hospital?

Once you’ve completed 24 hours in Hospital, you can give us a call and we will send you claim forms. You can only submit a claim once you’ve been discharged from hospital.

What is the claims process for an accident/death/illness claim?

Will I have to pay for this documentation?

Yes, you are liable for any cost incurred for the documentation needed for your claim.

Will The Unlimited pay the hospital directly?

NO. Once your claim is approved we will pay the proceeds of the claim directly into your Bank Account i.e. the account that we deduct your premiums. Only in the event of the Death of the Policy Holder will we pay an approved claim to another Bank account i.e. your Spouse, your Appointed Administrator or Executor.

How long does it take to assess and pay out a claim?

Once we have received ALL the required supporting documents together with your completed claim forms, your claim will be assessed and you will be informed of a decision regarding your claim within 72 hours. An approved claim is processed and paid within 24 hours.
